A Global Oil & Gas Production Technology Company Modernizes ERP for Operational Agility
As this Global Oil & Gas production technology company has expanded, operational complexity has grown. It faced a fragmented legal entity structure with outdated holding companies offering no tax benefits, and excess operating, holding, and dormant entities that increased cost and administrative burden.
A key business unit was running on a legacy Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system, which limited scalability and integration, while manufacturing and repair workflows lacked serial and lot traceability. Complex third-party applications also needed seamless integration with core systems. These issues posed a significant risk to tax compliance, operational efficiency, and scalability.
Hitachi Digital Services partnered with the company on a strategic Oracle ERP transformation project focused on consolidation, modernization, and integration. The program redesigned and reconfigured Oracle ERP without requiring a full reimplementation, helping the client simplify its legal entity structure while preserving operational continuity.
The solution also rolled out Oracle Cloud ERP to the key business unit and enabled serial and lot genealogy tracking through Oracle Mobile Supply Chain Applications. Hitachi Digital Services implemented Oracle Depot Repair for traceable repair management and used Oracle Integration Cloud to connect Arena Product Lifecycle Management and other third-party systems.
The program covered Inventory, Procurement, Order Management, General Ledger, Fixed Assets, Payables, Receivables, Cash Management, and Intercompany transactions.
The transformation gave the client a cleaner operating structure and a stronger ERP foundation. By consolidating entities, modernizing key business unit systems, and connecting core and third-party applications,
