Sumit Priyani

In this role, Sumit will lead IT strategy and operations, focusing on modernizing and harmonizing our technology landscape, advancing AI and automation, and strengthening our technology, data and cybersecurity capabilities to support integration, collaboration, and growth.

Sumit joins Hitachi from EXL Service, a global data and AI company, where he served as Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer. He led the architecture and engineering of EXL’s flagship EXLerate.ai platform, modernized its business and enterprise technology ecosystem, and established the frameworks that enabled the seamless integration of more than a dozen acquired businesses into EXL’s global technology landscape. He also oversaw technology operations and IT service delivery for more than 63,000 employees globally.

Previously, Sumit held senior technology leadership roles at iGATE Patni (now Capgemini), Genpact and NIIT Technologies. Across his career, he has built high-performing global technology teams and led transformation across enterprise applications, cloud infrastructure, data and analytics, AI and automation, cybersecurity and risk management.
