HFS Research’s Horizons: HCP Service Providers report helps healthcare providers (HCPs) identify service providers capable of modernizing legacy infrastructure with AI-enabled, future-ready digital capabilities that improve productivity, patient outcomes, and care experiences. It evaluates providers on their ability to deliver tailored solutions spanning clinical workflows, operational systems, advanced analytics, and long-term digital transformation that benefits all organizational departments, not just technology-based ones.
According to HFS Research, the “great re-architecture of healthcare has commenced,” driven by three converging forces: rapid advances in artificial intelligence (from generative AI to agentic AI); an aging population increasing demand for nurses and caregivers; and rising healthcare costs that are shifting greater financial responsibility to employers and consumers.
For its 2026 report, HFS Research evaluated 50 global service providers offering industrial consulting, engineering, and technology services across five criteria spanning the HCP value chain:
- Quadruple aim of care impact (cost of care, experience of care, health outcomes, and health equity)
- Services-as-Software™ methodology
- Innovation philosophy and approach
- Change agent enablement capabilities
- Go-to-market strategy

Providers were grouped into three Horizons, with Hitachi Digital Services earning the highest designation—Market Leader (Horizon 3). Market Leaders are recognized for delivering holistic, healthcare-native transformations rather than enterprise business or operational transformations alone.
Hitachi Digital Services began its operational integration with Hitachi Group company GlobalLogic earlier this year. The move combines Hitachi Digital Services’ systems integration, cloud modernization and managed operations capabilities with GlobalLogic’s expertise in digital product engineering, experience design, AI and software development from chip to cloud. In healthcare, GlobalLogic’s strengths in regulated product engineering, medical device software and digital health complement Hitachi Digital Services’ capabilities in data, infrastructure and mission-critical operations.
Together, the companies transform the total healthcare journey – helping healthcare providers improve patient experiences, streamline operations and enable more connected, intelligent care. Their digital innovations span medical devices and remote care to clinical workflows and enterprise healthcare platforms. These solutions are underpinned by integrated engineering capabilities and connected infrastructure. An Internet of Medical Things (IoMT) layer connects devices and systems, while AI, predictive analytics and vision-based technologies interpret data, monitor health deterioration, prioritize risks, and support clinical decision-making enabling earlier interventions.
Encapsulating the above, Hitachi Digital Services capabilities highlighted by HFS Research include:
- AI-enabled care coordination built on a connected digital infrastructure.
- Deep domain and regulated product engineering experience resulting in scalable innovations that connect medical devices, digital health and enterprise platforms, data and AI.
- End-to-end healthcare capabilities spanning digital hospitals, population health, AI, and smart infrastructure.
- Strong ecosystem partnerships that accelerate innovation, scale, and measurable patient and operational outcomes.
HFS Research’s executive research leader Rohan Kulkarni commented, “Healthcare-as-a-Service gives Hitachi Digital Services a powerful framework to help advance the quadruple aim of care by orchestrating the full breadth of Hitachi’s capabilities, from infrastructure and medical devices to digital services and operational transformation.”
